Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer LA MANNELLA
This is a fraction of the price of La Mannellaís Brunello because itís made from their youngest vines. Medium deep red colour with a faint hint of amber on the edges. The nose is quite attractive - slightly spicy, bright, sandalwood-tinged, warm ripe plums. Dry, medium bodied and well structured, the very tangy, slightly spicy, sandalwood-tinged, ripe plum-red-cherry flavours persist on the lingering crisp finish. Has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L.07/19RM on the back label. CSPC 372524

TASTING NOTE: Fruit from the youngest vines (planted in 2011) at the La Mannella site make this unique wine. Not many producers are in a position to make a single-vineyard Rosso, but we are slowly seeing more of them come to market. The Cortonesi 2018 Rosso di Montalcino La Mannella is redolent of red berry fruit, almond and plum. The wine does offer a rather prominent sense of structure, and this is one of the characteristics of the La Mannella site. Drink date: 2020-2024.
