BRUT CRÉMANT DE BOURGOGNE ROSÉ Traditional method, AC, Burgundy, France
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer HENRI CHAMPLIAU
NEW in Vintages, this very pleasant blend of 75% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay and 10% Gamay has a very pale light salmon pink colour. The nose is quite spicyand faintly honeyed with fresh, ripe, red berry fruit with some slight chalky notes. Its quite dry and medium-light bodied with spicy, bright, red-cherry-apple fruit flavours followed up with an with a fairly effervescent, crisp, slightly chalky finish. This batch with lot number L1831-2HC on the lower part of the glass bottle did not have all that much complexity. I did not find any notable brioche notes referred to in the Decanter’s enthusiastic 95-point tasting note from 2019 appearing in the Vintages Catalogue. It has approximately 15 months of aging on the less before degorgement with 10 g/L residual sugar. CSPC 20945
