Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CHÂTEAU SAINT-DIDIER PARNAC
This bargain priced 100% Malbec is 30% oak aged and has an extremely deep purple colour with an intense, ripe, warm, Damson plum nose along with some complex, mineral-tinged, gently cedary notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied and surprisingly well structured, the slightly spicy, intense, ripe, plum-cassis-dried-cherry flavours are followed up with a lingering, high acid, tangy, fresh, mineral-tinged finish. NOTE THAT THIS NEW BATCH was recently bottled on March 23, 2021 (L.1 3N23 03 21 on the lower part of the glass bottle) and has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. It offers exceptional value and is capable of aging gracefully for several years. Cahors in southwestern France is the birthplace of Malbec. Hervé Joyaux Fabre, the pioneer of Malbec in Argentina at Fabre Montmayou purchased this domaine in 2017. The vineyards are some of the best in the region. CSPC 10573
