BRUT RESERVA CAVA Traditional method, DO, Spain
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer VILARNAU BARCELONA
A REPEAT of the recommended best buy that was last released on July 25, 2020 at $15.95. Assessed from a new bottle just purchased at the LCBO. Bright medium straw colour with some tiny bubbles. Fairly intense, fresh, slightly spicy, attractive, somewhat floral, ripe, apple-melon-lemon puree fruit with some hints of minerality. Fairly dry, medium to medium-light bodied, well balanced, slightly spicy, very fresh, harmonious, ripe lemon-melon-apple fruit flavours with a lingering, crisp, mineral-tinged, effervescent finish. While it does not have the overt toasty complexity of a Champagne costing six times the price, it really is a ready-to-drink, rather delicious, summertime crowd-pleaser. This affordable, tasty, organic blend of 50% Macabeo, 35% Parellada and 15% Xarello has 11.5% alcohol and 9 g/L residual sugar with lot number 01.03.21 L210601905E on the back label CSPC 515254
