Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer HIDALGO
NEW in Vintages, this 2015 Reserva offers an abundance of high acid, intense, quite cedary, somewhat rustic, bricky-tangy flavours that go on and on. The cedary notes are from 28 months of aging in American oak. It has a fairly deep intense purple colour and the nose has a lot of cedar along with some red currant fruit. It finishes up with some slight bitter mocha notes. has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L1047 on the back label. CSPC 18934

TASTING NOTE: Smoky, toasty oak takes center stage on the nose of this fine Rioja. It's full and fruity on the palate yet has enough levity to allow the flavors to breathe. Strong barrel notes frame its salt, dried red fruit and cocoa flavors. Complex, ageworthy and high in quality, it will be best from 2020-2030. Editors' Choice.
