EREMO LANGHE ROSSO 2016 DOC
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer FONTANAFREDDA
Unable to get the newly released bottle for assessment from the agent. A REPEAT of the 2016 (**) was released on March 2, 2019 at $19.95. Here is my previous note: Fairly deep purple colour. Mature, complex, fairly intense, sandalwood-tinged, spicy, baked plum nose. Dry, medium bodied, maturing, spicy, baked, plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, crisp, sandalwood-tinged finish. This blend of 60% Barbera and 40% Nebbiolo has 13.5% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L180992 on the neck tag. CSPC 454041

TASTING NOTE: Fontanafredda's Eremo 2016 is a full-bodied smoky, earthy with bright red cherry, leather and sweet tobacco leaf flavours on the palate. Great acidity for food on this well-priced 60% Barbera and 40% Nebbiolo red wine blend from the Langhe region in Piedmont. Decant 1-2 hours prior to pouring with grilled game meats. Enjoy now and pair it with game meats. Drink date: 2019-2025. Score - 90 (nataliemaclean.com, March 15, 2019) Price $ 19.95
