Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer RUFFINO
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. From an outstanding year, this icon offers reliable drinkability and pleasure. Deep intense purple colour the nose is slightly spicy and sandalwood-tinged with Fairly deep intense purple colour. Slightly spicy, intense, sandalwood-intense, ripe plum-cherry puree fruit along with gently cedary, mineral-tinged, red licorice notes. Dry, medium bodied, nicely structured, harmonious, very slightly spicy, bright, elegant, rntense, ripe plum-cherry-cassis flavours with a lingering, lifted, gently cedary, sandalwood-tinged finish. This new blend of 80% Sangiovese, 10%, Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot was aged for three years in oak, stainless steel and concrete vats. It has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L20275 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Better than the 2015 (***) that was released on October 31, 2020 at $49.95. CSPC 353201
