Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer DOMAINES ANDRÉ AUBERT
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Here is a well-made, fresh, ripe, ready-to-drink Cotes du Rhone-Villages that really hits the mark when it comes to value and drinkability. Deep purple colour, the attractive, nose shows gently spicy, juicy, ripe, plum-raspberry fruit with some floral, violet-tinged, mineral notes. Dry, medium bodied, bright, fairly juicy, ripe, plum-raspberry-blueberry flavours with a gently complex, faintly earthy, quite well structured, lingering, crisp finish. This very tasty blend of 75% Grenache and 25% Syrah has a surprising 15.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L21036 on the upper part of the glass bottle. CSPC 224915

TASTING NOTE: This classic pairing of Grenache and Syrah is quite floral and aromatic, with red and black fruit, pepper spice and mineral. Intense but approachable, it's an ideal barbecue wine, with the flexibility to match with a wide range of grilled meats as well as vegetarian options. This could just be your new summer house red.
