CHÂTEAU GUILLOU 2016 AC Montagne-Saint-Émilion
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Wow, once again the new 2016 Bordeaux vintage just demolishes the previous 2015 vintage. Deep intense purple colour. Attractive, intense, rather cedary, slightly spicy, complex, ripe, plum-cassis-cherry nose. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, slightly spicy, intense, plum-cassis flavours with a lingering, bright, gently cedary, very faintly woodsy finish. This blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc has 14% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with lot number 09/07/2019 on the lower part of the glass bottle. The 2015 (*+/**) with 87-points was released on December 9, 2017 at $19.95. CSPC 140483

A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: Merlot and a touch of Cabernet Franc have produced a wine that has both richness and elegant structure. Firm tannins promise aging although the attractive black-currant flavors are already right up front. To be at its best, the wine should be drunk from 2021. Editors' Choice. Bottle Size 750 mL
