CHÂTEAU LARROQUE 2016 Sustainable, AC Bordeaux Supérieur
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Wow, what a difference the year makes - this 2016 is one of the best vintages in the last 20 years. Indeed, this surprisingly complex, remarkably tasty, 2016 Bordeaux Supérieur is a truly terrific buy at only $17.95. This 59 hc estate bordering on Graves on the Left Bank has a deep intense purple colour. The nose is very attractive with violet-ti nged, ripe, plum-cherry-cassis fruit along with some toasty, complex notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, bright, ripe, plum-cassis-black-cherry flavours with a lingering, harmonious, well structured, gently cedary finish. A blend of 52% Merlot and 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, it has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. CSPC 92536

A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: A near 50-50 blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine has a fine tannic structure that supports a generous array of rich dark fruit and spice. The excellent, fresh spine of acidity will make this a confident pairing for grilled burgers or ribs.
