Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer BARON PHILIPPE DE ROTHSCHILD
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. This well-made, crowd-pleasing, ready-to-drink Medoc is a blend of 58% Merlot and 42% Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a very deep intense purple colour with an attractive, bright, gently juicy, ripe, plum-black-cherry nose along with some toasty, dark chocolate notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, harmonious, slightly spicy, very ripe, bright, plummy-black-cherry flavours with a lingering, lifted, faintly spicy, gently cedary, rounded finish. A pleasure to drink, it has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L340073 on the back label and 219142 on the lower part of the glass bottle. NEW in Vintages. CSPC 18578

A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: Mostly Merlot with the rest made up of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, this wine is sourced from among the producer's considerable holdings of exceptional plots. It's enjoyable and fresh, with a rich texture, ripe black fruit, delicately articulated oak and well-framed tannins. Strikes a fine balance between power and elegance. Try it with a juicy steak and grilled mushrooms. Price $ 24.95
