SAUMUR ROUGE 2018 Sustainable, AP
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer DOMAINE LANGLOIS-CHÂTEAU
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. It's the last bottle of the day (7:17 pm) and, for the first time ever, I just coravined a screwcap bottle - thankfully the needle was not damaged. NEW in Vintages, this 100% Cabernet Franc from the Loire is one of the most user-friendly ones I have had in years. It has an extremely deep intense violet purple colour. The nose shows lots of oak-free, ripe, bright, plummy black cherry fruit with just a faint hint black pepper. Dry, medium bodied, well balanced, bright, ripe, fresh, plummy-cherry-cassis fruit flavours, it has a crisp albeit nicely structured, lingering finish. A versatile, ready-to-drink joy at the price, it has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. Screwcap closure. CSPC 18157
