CRIANZA RIOJA 2016 DO Ribera del Duero
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CONDADO DE HAZA
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Here is an impressive, hefty, 100% Tempranilo that spent 18 months in new American oak that has a tidal wave of flavours and structure. Extremely deep intense purple colour, the nose is loaded with ripe, plummy-cassis fruit and a wave of faintly herbal cedar notes. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, intense, ripe. plum-cassis flavours with a lingering, high acid, supple, cedary finish. It has harmony and great mouthfeel with 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number CR290417/18 on the back label. This keeper is much better than the 2014 that was released on June 9, 2018 at $28.95. CSPC 963348
