Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer ONDARRE
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. This youthful, well-priced Rioja spent 16 months (according to the winery) in NEW barrels. Extremely deep purple colour, the nose is loaded with cedar and intense, juicy, ripe, plum-cherry purée fruit along with some hints of smoke. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, fairly spicy, intense, slightly baked, ripe plum flavours with a lingering, bright, high acid, cedary finish. This well structured, organic blend usually consists of of 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo and has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L-1018 on the back label.
