Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer LEONE DE CASTRIS
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Very deep intense dark ruby-purple colour with a touch of brick on the edge. Slightly spicy, bright, ripe, plum nose with some crancherry and sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, harmonious, bright, sandalwood-tinged, very pleasant, ripe plum flavours with a lingering, crisp, faintly spicy, gently complex finish with a touch of licorice. TASTING NOTE: There's a dynamic character to the nose here, despite the richness, with morello cherries, brambleberries and orange peel. Medium to full body, chewy tannins and nice dark-fruit intensity on the finish. Drink now. Score - 91 (jamessuckling.com, Oct. 22, 2018) Price $ 21.95
