Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer Prisoner Wine Company
Assessed from a bottle provided by the agent. This multi-regional California blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah and Merlot has little to do with the classic non-California Cab Sauv style that is produced elsewhere, especially in France at the $30 mark. Thatís not to say that itís bad, itís just different and unexpected. In fact, itís an easy to drink, wide-appeal, fruity red blend that lots of people will enjoy. Deep purple in colour, it has a very fruity nose focused on plummy, black cherry fruit along with some cedary notes. Itís fairly dry and medium bodied with smooth, juicy, ripe, plummy, black cherry and raspberry fruit flavours with a lingering, very faintly herb-tinged, cedar finish. It has 14.5% alcohol and 8 g/L residual sugar with lot number L0202 2001 and 20200304 on the lower part of the glass bottle. NEW in Vintages. CSPC 17812
