CHÂTEAU HOURTOU 2015 AC Côtes de Bourg
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer
This recently bottled Cote de Bourg was born in an extremely hot dry year. It’s a blend of 80% Merlot, 10 % Cabernet-Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc and 5% Malbec. The lot shipped to the LCBO (L026801 on the capsule) still seems quite strident and youthful - especially when you see that 80% of the blend is Merlot which usually has more accesable fruit. Deep violet red colour, the nose is quite youthful and still slightly peppery with some faintly herbal baked plum notes. It is extremely dry on the palate with medium bodied, red pepper tinged, faintly herbal notes and a lingering, rather high acid, somewhat dusty, red brick finish. It has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. CSPC 630038
