Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer VALLÉE DES AIGLES
NEW in Vintages, the actual blend in this tasty, well structured SAINT MARTIN CÔTES DU ROUSSILLON-VILLAGES 2017 is 65% Syrah, 25% Grenache and 10% Carignan. It has an extremely deep intense purple colour and a refined, intense, violet-tinged nose showing ripe plum-raspberry fruit. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, well structured, ripe, plum-cherry-raspberry fruit with a lingering, fairly high acid, fairly complex, gently cedary finish. It has 14.5% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar. CSPC 19284

TASTING NOTE: Surely one of the top estates in the region, Vallee des Aigles has turned out another stellar wine in its 2017 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Cuvee Saint Martin. Slightly fuller bodied and darker fruited than the regular bottling, it's still inviting, complex and fresh, marrying black cherries and plums with hints of thyme, roses and cedar.
