CHÂTEAU LE BOSCQ 2015 Cru Bourgeois, AC Saint-Estèphe
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer
A REPEAT of the 2015 (***) was released on May 11, 2019 at $51.95. Here is my previous note: Extremely deep intense purple colour. Youthful, slightly spicy, intense, slightly baked plum nose with some cedary-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, slightly spicy, youthful, faintly peppery, firm plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, high acid, gently cedary finish. Has 13.5 alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar. The final blend (not known) is based on vineyard plantings of 56% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot and 2% Cabernet Franc. The SAQ suggests that it is 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. CSPC 633891

TASTING NOTE: The rich wood and fruit of this wine already show good balance. The estate, owned by Bordeaux negociant Dourthe, is now on excellent form with this structured wine offering concentration and long-term aging. The tannins and the dry core from roughly equal proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and a pinch of Petit Verdot promise great potential. Drink from 2025. Cellar Selection.
