Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CORTE GIARA
It has been a long time since this Amarone has appeared nose Vintages - the 2005 was released on February 28, 2009 at $46.95. This blend of 70% Corvina and 30% Rondinella has a deep red colour
with a slightly spicy, somewhat floral, lilac-tinged, plum-blackberry nose. It;s better on the palate which is dry and nicely structured with fairly elegant, licorice-tinged, warm, ripe plum-cherry purée flavours ans a lingering, gente cedar-sandalwood finish. Quite ready-to-drink, it has 15% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar with lot number L21014 on the back label. Seems quite ready to drink.
