CHÂTEAUX VIEUX CHEVROL 2016 AC Lalande de Pomerol
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. This still youthful Lalande de Pomerol is a blend of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Cabernet Franc. It’s the kind of red that goes perfectly with the family Sunday rib roast. Very deep intense purple colour, the nose is faintly savoury, very slightly spicy and gently cedary with plum-crancherry fruit. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied, quite well structured, somewhat tangy, firm, plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, still somewhat grippy finish. Aged 12 months in 600 liter casks and bottled unfiltered, it has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar. Still needs another year or so in bottle to become more accessible. The 2015 (unable to taste) was released on August 31, 2019 at $29.95. CSPC 525931
