BAROLO 2012 DOCG
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer STEFANO FARINA
A 199 case REPEAT of the 2012 (***) was released on February 8, 2020 at $50.95. Here is my previous note: Ambering medium-deep red colour. Spicy, mature, plummy nose with lots of sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, baked plum flavours with a lingering, fairly high acid, sandalwood-driven, rose hip-tinged finish. An old school style that has some slight bitter notes. Tasted once. Has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L01019. Has not appeared in Vintages before. TONY ASPLER (judge at Decanter World Wine Awards) / 89-points - Mature ruby colour; cedary, spicy, firmly structured, strawberry and cherry flavours; soft mouth-feel but evident tannins on the finish. Needs 4 - 5 years cellaring.
