TERRE DE MISTRAL PLAN DE DIEU CÔTES DU RHÔNE-VILLAGES 2017 AP
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer RÉMY FERBRAS
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Here is a genuine. fully accessable, crowd-pleaser that offers great value. This blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre shows lots of ready-to-drink ripeness. Fairly deep purple colour, the nose is quite spicy with faintly toasty, licorice-tinged, fairly intense, ripe, plum-cherry fruit. It’s fairly dry, medium bodied and slightly spicy with bright, fresh, plum-cherry-apple flavours with a crisp, lingering finish. Great for casual dinners, it’s ready-to-drink and has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number LC20334/2 on the upper part of the glass bottle just below the capsule. CSPC 538009

TASTING NOTE: When we offered the 2015 vintage of this friendly-priced wine nearly three years ago, it nabbed 90 points from robertparker.com, where it was praised for its charming cherry and raspberry fruit and for offering great value. Expect to be similarly impressed with this latest vintage and pair it with pork-and-mushroom fricassee. Price $ 16.95
