Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer ROCHE DE BELLENE
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. This is a good example of the pure, still youthful Pinot Noir character that typifies a well-made Bourgogne. Fairly deep intense purple colour. Rather spicy, bright, youthful, ripe, plum-cherry-cranberry nose with some minerally, sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, tangy, youthful, fairly attractive, very fresh, fairly ripe, bright, still faintly tannic, plum-red-cherry flavours with a very gently cedary, quite nicely structured, slightly grippy, colour faintly herbal, crisp finish. Has 12.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L1R19003 on the back label. When I taste this, all I can think of is coq au vin. It will be better in 12 months from now. CSPC 299859
