Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer KIR YIANNI
A REPEAT of the recommended best buy 2017 (**/**+) that was released on June 13, 2020 at $19.95. Here is my previous note: Deep intense purple colour. Attractive, bright, gently juicy, ripe, plummy-blueberry nose with some toasty notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, tangy, fresh, ripe plum-cherry fruit flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, nicely balanced, lifted, very gently savoury, grippy, sandalwood-tinged finish. This tasty 100% Xinomavro was aged for 12 months in used French (90%) and American oak. It has 14% alcohol and 2.1 g/L residual sugar with lot number L13519 on the back label. CSPC 14151

TASTING NOTE: The 2017 Naoussa Cuvée Villages, a relatively new brand, is all Xinomavro aged for 12 months in used French oak (with 10% American). It comes in at 14% alcohol. This bottling hasn't been around for long, but it already looks like a winner. Showing fine concentration for the level, it adds a refined demeanor and a real backbone. The tannins aren't too hard, though, so you can drink this young. Drink date: 2020-2030. Score - 90 (Mark Squires, robertparker.com, April 30, 2019) Price $ 19.95
Bottle Size 750 mL
