CUVÉE DE L'ÉCUSSON BRUT SPARKLING Traditional method, Luxembourg
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer BERNARD-MASSARD
Unable to get a bottle for assessment from the agent. A REPEAT that last appeared in Vintages (**) on September 16, 2017 at $19.95. Here is my previous note: Bright medium straw colour. Gently honeyed, ripe lemon-melon nose with some hints of apple and some gently complex, toasty notes. Dry, ripe melon-apple flavours with a lingering, crisp, effervescent finish. This blend of 45% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Blanc, 15% Pinot Noir has 12.5% alcohol and 13 g/L residual sugar with lot number L-17102 on the back label. Beware of the ancient 95-point tastinf note quoted in the Vintages Catalogue. CSPC 970970

TASTING NOTE: Though not the same bottling reviewed by DWWA 2017, this release will reflect a similar quality and offer a drinking window of 2+ years. TASTING NOTE: 45% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Blanc, 15% Pinot Noir. This is a classy example of a sparkling wine. Citrus notes to start, followed by cream and pineapple, quite possibly piña colada too. There's excellent purity and freshness, making this light, enjoyable and difficult not to recall in a year or two. Best in Show: Best Value Sparkling. Score - 95 (Decanter World Wine Awards, 2017) Price $ 20.95
Bottle Size 750 mL
Tasting Date vintages release - February 20, 2021
