OLD VINES GRENACHE/SYRAH/MOURVÈDRE 2018 AP Côtes du Roussillon
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TESSELLAE
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. This new ever-popular blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre has a deep intense purple colour and attractive, gently juicy, ripe, plum-cherry puree nose with some faint sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, fairly spicy, bright, gently juicy, ripe cherry-plum puree flavours with a lingering, very tangy, gently mineral-tinged, sandalwood-inflected finish. Owner Jean-Marc Lafage ages this red in concrete in order to highlight the natural fruit flavours. It has 14.5% alcohol and 5 g/L residual sugar with lot number L20279A on the lower part of the glass bottle. The recommended 2017 (**/**+) was released on October 3, 2020 at $19.95. CSPC 343517
