ATYPIQUE 2018 IGP Pays d'Oc
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer DOMAINE DE LA CENDRILLON
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Here is a distinctive new organic red - a blend of 40% Marselan, 30% Merlot and 30 % Mourvèdre with no oak as it that was all aged in concrete vats for 12 months. It has a very deep intense purple colour with a spicy, complex, youthful, ripe, dark plum-cherry-cassis nose with some faintly herbal, earthy-mushroom notes. Dry, medium bodied, still somewhat grippy, rather intense, slightly peppery, ripe, plum-cassis flavours with a lingering, fairly tangy, earthy, soy-tinged finish. Has 14.5% alcohol and a g/L residual sugar with lot number L24081GPA18202 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Recommended at the price, perhaps with robust beef stew. NEW in Vintages. CSPC 18151

Expect plush texture and an interplay of red and dark fruit and pour with beef-and-eggplant stew.
