Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer VILLA ANTINORI
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. This ripe, yet elegant, flavourful blend of 90 % Sangiovese, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot seems to be surprisingly accessible at present. Deep intense purple in colour, it has an intense, slightly earthy, cedar-tinged, green olive nose that is gently spicy with lots of attractive, ripe, plum-cherry-cassis fruit. Dry, medium to medium-full bodied and quite well structured, the slightly spicy, fairly dense, ripe plum-cherry-cassis flavours are followed up by a lingering, gently cedary, sandalwood-tinged finish. It has 13.5% alcohol and 1.8 g/L residual sugar with lot number L8331 on the lower part of the glass bottle. CSPC 540971

A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: Black currant, cedar, olive, iron and tobacco aromas and flavors suggest Cabernet in the blend, in a positive sense. This red is fluid, elegant and firmly structured, with fine balance and a long, gripping finish. The taut profile shows the potential for aging. Smart Buys.
