Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MATANÉ
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Here is an easy-going, crowd-pleasing, enty-level, ready-to-drink red from Puglia - the heel of Italy. It has a deep purple colour with a fairly intense, very spicy, faintly jammy, blackberry-plum nose with some hints of clove. Off dry, medium to medium-light bodied, harmonious, spicy, bright, very ripe, plum-cherry-black-currant flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, clove-tinged finish. Has 13.5% alcohol and 11 g/L residual sugar. Screwcap closure. The 2013 (**) was released on January 9, 2016 at $14.95. CSPC 434290
