Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MONASTERIO DE LAS VIÑAS
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Doesn't anybody read the wine label? It clearly says RESERVA GARNACHA, TEMPRANILLO, CARIÑENA & CABERNET SAuVIGNON 2015. It seems that the latter grape has disappeared! Very deep intense purple colour. Gently cedary, spicy, intense, ripe plum purée nose with some cassis-tinged, cedar-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, slightly spicy, bright, ripe, plum-cherry-black-currant flavours with a lingering, tangy, very faintly peppery, gently ceday, harmonious finish. This blend of was aged in barrel for 12 months (70% American and 30% French) and as 13.5% alcohol and 4 g/L residual sugar with lot number L201399 on the back label. The recommended 2014 (**+) was released on July 25, 2020 at $14.95. CSPC 166579
