Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer BORGO SALCETINO
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. This blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Canaiolo was aged for 12 months in small oak. It has a medium garnet colour and a bright, lively, faintly floral, plum-red-cherry nose with some minerally, sandalwood notes. Dry medium bodied and still faintly tannic, the bright, still fresh, plum-cherry fruit shows good persistence and balance with some slightly earthy-sandalwood notes. Great with tomato-based pasta dishes. It has 13.5% alcohol and 6 g/L residual sugar with lot number L2 on the lower part of the glass bottle. CSPC 17399

TASTING NOTE: The 2017 Chianti Classico is a very pretty, fragrant wine with bright red berry fruit, mid-weight structure and fine overall persistence. The translucent side of Sangiovese comes through nicely in a classy, polished Chianti Classico that really pulses with energy and vibrancy. Drinking window: 2019-2029.
