GOLD LABEL BRUT SPARKLING 2017 Traditional method, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer BLUE MOUNTAIN
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Blue Mountainís consistently well-made, effervescent, Okanagan method Champenoise is worth a detour. This is the 10th Vintages release I have tasted since 2011 and it is showing very well. Bright medium straw colour, the nose is gently complex and gently spicy and faintly honeyed with ripe lemon-melon-apple fruit along with some mineral notes. Dry, medium bodied and nicely structured with tangy, fresh, mineral-tinged, ripe lemon-apple flavours with a lingering, slightly spicy, still fresh, effervescent finish. An excellent blend of 57% Pinot Noir, 39% Chardonnay and 4% Pinot Gris, this fine, food-friendly, best buy has 12% alcohol and 8 g/L residual sugar. Aged on itís lees for 24 months, the identification ď2017 DISGORGED 03/20Ē appears in large letters on the back label. This is important because every vintage batch has its own personality. Unfortunately, Vintages quotes scores/tasting notes that are based on earlier vintages and does not necessarily reflect whatís actually available. CSPC 206326
