Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer REMY FERBRAS
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Here is a very well made, rather fruit forward, 2017 Chateauneuf du Pape from Remy Ferbras that will please discerned wine fans. It has a fairly deep intense ruby colour and an attractive, complex, ripe, Damson plum nose with some faintly earthy, autumnal forest floor notes. It’s dry, medium-full bodied and well structured on the palate with harmonious, concentrated, mouthfilling, ripe, bright, Damson plum fruit flavours complimented by red and black cherryellow notes followed up by a lingering, sandalwood-chestnut notes and fine acidity. Surprisingly delicious now, it can still evolve for a number of years. This tasty blend of 75% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre and 10% Syrah has 14% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with lot number L20073/1 on the upper part of the glass bottle. NEW in Vintages.
