LE PONNANT CÔTES DU RHÔNE-VILLAGES 2018 Unfiltered, AP |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
LA FERME DU MONT |
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Consistently fine value from Very deep intense violet-purple colour. Bight, spicy, expansive, intense, gently juicy, ripe plum-cherry-cassis nose with some sandalwood and red licorice notes. Dry, medium-full bodied, well structured, tangy, fairly spicy, intense, ripe plum-cherry-cassis flavours with a lingering, gently cedary, crisp, faintly earthy finish. Still quite youthful - perfect with roast beef. This solid unfiltered blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre has 14% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar with no lot number on the lower part of the glass bottle. It is now on the carton - 20192/5. A REPEAT of the recommended best buy 2018 that was released on April 18, 2020. |
