TEDESCHI ANSARI AMARONE DELLA VALPOLICELLA 2016 DOCG
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer TEDESCHI
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Itís 9:05 on Monday, December 14. This is the last wine of the day and by far the best red I have tasted from the December Vintages release. Astonishing! It has 17.5% alcohol and 8 g/L residual sugar with lot number 2016 L5 on the back label but tastes perfectly balanced. Very deep intense purple-ruby colour, it has a remarkable, vibrant, fresh nose - a room filled with fresh roses, ripe Damson plums, raspberries and fresh blueberries. Itís dry, full bodied, very rich and yet harmonious with slightly spicy, complex, gently earthy, intense, ripe Damson plums with some strawberry-blueberry compote along with a bright, vanilla-tinged, warm, autumnal chestnut flan finish. This incredible value is made from 40% Corvinone, 35%, Corvina, 20% Rondinella and 5% Oseleta. Bravo - donít miss it! CSPC 16103

TASTING NOTE: This savoury wine was aged for 36 months in oak and shows complex, gorgeously articulated earth and leather notes. The dark fruit is ripe and almost sweet and, along with the vibrant acidity, gives this bold wine a bright, fresh outlook. A great example of why Amarone is virtually unparalleled as a holiday dinner classic. (Vintages panel, Jan. 2020) Price $ 54.95
