Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. This tasty red blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Cinsaulis big surprise - ripe, harmonious and ready-to-enjoy. It has a deep intense purple colour with a a charming, ripe, may I say opulent, gently juicy, plummy nose with some ripe cherry notes. It’s dry, medium bodied, fairly bright, ripe, fresh Damson plum fruit along with red and black cherry notes and a harmonious, slightly spicy, gently tangy, lingering, bright, fruity finish. It’s all quite ready to drink - civilized and charming. It has 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L18/151-VH on the back label. NEW in Vintages. CSPC 15447

TASTING NOTE: A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault, the 2016 Lirac was bottled just a couple of weeks before my visit. Perhaps as a result, it was somewhat reticent at first but later opened to reveal opulent, velvety notes of cola and dried spices. It's medium to full-bodied, with dark fruit and a long, rich finish.
