MERLOT/CABERNET/MALBEC 2016 Hawke's Bay, North Island
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer ELEPHANT HILL
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Here is an attractive, versatile, ready to drink blend of 67% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Malbec and 5% Cabernet Franc all from Hawkes Bay. It comes with a deep intense purple colour. The attractive, fruit-driven nose shows an abundance of ripe plum, cherry and cassis along with some gently cedary notes. It is dry, medium bodied and well balanced with lots of tangy, ripe Damson plum fruit and cassis-cherry flavours that show good length. It has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number 280318 on the lower part of the glass bottle. CSPC 630517
