BRUT SPARKLING CHARDONNAY PINOT NOIR Traditional method, DO Western Cape, South Africa
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer GRAHAM BECK
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Here is a really terrific best buy for Champagne fans. Bright pale straw colour. Lovely, slightly spicy, fairly complex, gently toasty, intense, ripe lemon-apple meringue nose. Dry, medium bodied, well structured, harmonious, faintly spicy, fairly complex, ripe, lemon-red-apple meringue flavours with a vibrant, effervescence, lingering, citrus-tinged, gently toasty, well balanced finish. Versatile and ready-to-drink, this delicious blend of 51% Chardonnay and 49% Pinot Noir has 12% alcohol and only 8 g/L residual sugar with L20187 on the back label. It was recently disgorged in June 2020 - meaning that it likely spent some 22 months on its lees (the code 22118 appears on the lower part of the glass bottle). It will likely taste even better in a year from now. CSPC 593483
