RISERVA DUCALE ORO GRAN SELEZIONE CHIANTI CLASSICO 2016 DOCG |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |
Producer |
RUFFINO |
A REPEAT of the 2015 (***) was released on June 13, 2020 at $47.95. Here is my previous note: Fairly deep intense purple colour. Slightly spicy, intense, sandalwood-tinged, ripe plum-cherry puree nose with some gently cedary, mineral-tinged, red licorice notes. Dry, medium bodied, fairly well structured, harmonious, very slightly spicy, bright, elegant, ripe plum-cherry flavours with a lingering, lifted, gently cedary, sandalwood-tinged finish. This new blend 85% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot, and 5% Colorino has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L19076 on the lower part of the glass bottle. |

A Vintage Assessments Explorer's Selection! |
TASTING NOTE: Made with 85% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot and 5% Colorino, this opens with alluring aromas that evoke iris, dark-skinned berry, sunbaked earth and leather. The structured palate delivers dried black cherry, cranberry jam, licorice and tobacco alongside fine-grained tannins and fresh acidity. Enjoy 2021-2029.
