BEN SCHILD RESERVE SHIRAZ 2015 Single vineyard, Barossa Valley, South Australia |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

SCHILD ESTATE |
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. This hefty, well structured, Borassa Valley Reserve Shiraz offers an avalanche of huge, intense, ripe flavours, It has a very deep intense purple colour and has a spicy, slightly smoky, cedar-driven, extremely ripe, black cherry puree nose with some hints of dark chocolate. It’s dry and full bodied with grippy, mouthfilling, ripe but still fresh, harmonious, very intense, black cherry flavours that go on and on. The lingering well-balanced finish shows good acidity and great density. Aged separately for 18 months in French, American and Hungarian oak, it has 14.5% alcohol and 7 g/L residual sugar with lot number 17328 on the back label and a screwcap closure. You an drink it now or wait for another decade! NEW in Vintages. |

TASTING NOTE: From vines planted '00, the vinification identical to Pramie. There is a tsunami of luscious black fruits, dark chocolate, ginger and spice, the tannins quick to mark their presence, but not envelope the fruit. Drink by: 2048.
