CUNE RIOJA CRIANZA 2016 DOCa Rioja
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer CVNE
A REPEAT of the recommended best buy 2016 (**/**+) that was released on April 18, 2020 at $15.95. Here is my previous note: Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Fairly deep purple-ruby colour. Spicy, gently gedary, fairly juicy, ripe black cherry purée nose with lots of vanilla-sandalwood notes. Dry, medium bodied, bright, harmonious, well structured, ripe plum-cherry purée flavours with a lingering, lifted, gently cedary, well balanced finish. This blend of 85% Tempranillo and 15% Garnacha Tinta/Mazuel has 13.5% alcohol and 3 g/L residual sugar. CSPC 39925

A Best Buy
TASTING NOTE: Berry, spice and tobacco aromas work in unison to give this Crianza a nice start. A firm palate avoids jamminess and shows grip. Dark plum, raspberry, spice and pepper flavors hold on through the finish. For everyday Rioja, there isn't much better than this. Ranked #41 in Wine Enthusiast's Top 100 Best Buys of 2019. Score - 90 (Michael Schachner, Wine Enthusiast, Aug. 1, 2019) Price $ 16.95
Bottle Size 750 mL
