LADYBUG ROSÉ 2019 VQA Niagara Peninsula
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MALIVOIRE
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. This popular Vintages Essential has a medium-light orange-salmon colour. Spicy, faintly honeyed, fresh, ripe, plummy-strawberry nose. Dry, medium to medium-light bodied, slightly spicy, gently juicy, fresh, strawberry-plum flavours with a crisp, unoaked finish. This very pleasant, ready-to-drink, crowd-pleaser is a blend of 65% Cabernet Franc, 27% Gamay and 8% Pinot Noir. It has 12% alcohol and only 3 g/L residual sugar (not 6 as appears on the LCBO website) with lot number LC-20200812 on the lower part of the glass bottle. It has a hefty 8 g/L total acidity which keeps it fresh and balanced. Screwcap closure. This Vintages Essential has a $2 LTO until June 21st reducing the price to $14.95 meaning that it is probably worth trying. The 2019 - not tasted - may now also be on the shelves. CSPC 559088
