SOKOL BLOSSER |
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Fairly intense medium deep red colour. Attractive, rather spicy, very ripe, plum-cherry puree nose with some cedary, earthy-smoky notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, spicy, youthful, intense, ripe, plum-cherry-raspberry flavours with a lingering, crisp, very faintly smoky, cedary, mineral`-tinged finish. Hand harvested at a number of sites at various levels of ripeness (22 to 26 brix) and fermented in a mix of steel and oak tank. The wine aged in French oak barrels, one-third new, for 18 months It has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number 18061 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Try with lamb. The 2015 (***) with 91-points was released on April 27, 2019 at $37.95. |
