Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer VILLA MATILDE
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. This tasty, unoaked, ripe, ready-to-drink Aglianico shows fine aromatic typicity. Fairly deep intense purple colour. Slightly spicy, quite complex, sandalwood-tinged, very faintly earthy, bright, dried ripe plum nose with some bricky notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite well structured, slightly earthy, baked ripe plum flavours with a lingering, crisp, sandalwood-tinged finish. Screwcap closure. A perfect match for Campania’s famous spaghetti con le vongole. This ready-to-drink. 100% Aglianico has 13.5% alcohol and 7 g/L residual sugar with lot number 29/20 on the capsule. Better and riper than the 2008 that was released on June 9, 2012 at $19.95. CSPC 165035
