CUVÉE TRADITION ROSÉ 2019 AP Costières-de-Nîmes
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer MAS DES BRESSADES
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. I am a fan of dry Rhone rosé and this Costières-de-Nîmes offers attractive, easy-to-quaff value. Bright salmon-tinged light day-glo pink colour. Very slightly spicy, faintly honeyed, fresh, plum-apple-citrus aromas with some hints of peach along with minerally notes. Dry, light to medium-light bodied, tangy, slightly spicy, fresh, crisp, lightish, plum-apple flavours with an unoakedeep, faintly chalky finish. This blend is usually 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 20% Cinsault and has 13.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L20135 (meaning that it was bottled on May 14, 2020). It is recommended although it doesn’t have enough structure and/or intensity to warrant the 90-point score appearing in Vintages Catalogue. CSPC 950576

TASTING NOTE: Generously aromatic, this Southern Rhône rosé is notably reflective of its cooler sub-regional origins. A Provençal blend of grenache, syrah and cinsault that has undergone a short maceration adding a little more colour than you would find in a typical wine from a bit further south. Dry and perfumed with local garrigue to a wildly compelling end. Score - 90 (Sara d'Amato, winealign.com, April 24, 2020) Price $ 16.95
