VILLAGE PINOT NOIR 2017 Yarra Valley, Victoria
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer YERING STATION
Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. Victoria’s Yarra Valley produces some very credible well-priced Pinot Noir and this is one of them. Medium deep red colour. Slightly spicy, attractive, fresh ripe, plum-cherry-strawberry-ruby-grapfruit nose with some gentle cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied, very bright, slightly spicy, tangy, fresh, elegant, ripe, plummy, cherry-raspberry-strawberry flavours with a lingering, fairly high, acid, very gently cedary finish. Showing very nicely with lots of vibrant, fresh, ripe, accessible albeit classy, cool climate inspired Pinot Noir flavours. Has 13% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L8193 on the lower part of the glass bottle. Better than the recommended best buy 2015 (**/**+) was released on April 28, 2018 at $24.95. TASTING NOTE: This is very good. In a word: reach. It has above-average flow and flavour, it feels seamless from start to finish, it has just the right amount of both depth and complexity and it pushes on through the finish. Drink: 2019- 2023+.
