ROTARI BRUT ROSÉ SPARKLING 2014 Traditional method, DOC Trentino, Italy
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer ROTARI
Bright copper-tinged pale salmon-pink colour with a stream of ultra tiny bubbles. Attractive, faintly spicy, slightly floral, ripe red-apple-lemon-melon nose with some mineral notes. Dry, medium bodied, very bright, well balanced, fresh, ripe plum-lemon flavours with a lingering, crisp, very faintly toasty, quite well structured finish. This remarkably priced 2014 blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay was made in the Methode Classique. Originally bottled (tiraged) on April 1, 2015. It has 12.5% alcohol and 8.4 g/L residual sugar with only 6.4 g/L total acidity. The disgorgement date (or SBOCCATURA in Italian and 2020 LR0098 is on the back label) was April 7, 2020. This means that the wine was aged on its lees for 60 months in the bottle. Note that the back label modestly states “over 24 months.” The longer the lees exposure, the more complex and richer the wine. This will be better to drink in 12-months time! CSPC 16601
