Vintage Assessments Tasting Note Producer BERONIA
This ex-Vintages 100% Tempranillo was the first Rioja to be barrel fermented and is designated as “Elaboración Especial”. It has a very deep intense purple colour and is surprisingly intense on the nose with lots of warm, ripe, plummy, black cherry fruit along with gently earthy, rather cedary notes. Dry, medium bodied and harmonious, the well structured, somewhat tangy, intense, ripe, plum-black-cherry flavours come with a long, lifted, cedary finish. Barrel-fermented in new 225-litre American oak, Beronia has 14% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L111201BC on the lower part of the glass bottle. Great with BBQ ribs, this 2018 is the best to date and is capable of aging for a year or so. CSPC 426981
