CHÂTEAU FRANCS MAGNUS 2018 AC Bordeaux Supérieur |
Vintage Assessments Tasting Note |

Assessed from a bottle purchased at the LCBO. This tasty, well-priced, Fronsac Bordeaux Supérieur has a fairly deep purple red colour. Slightly spicy, licorice-tinged, ripe plum-blueberry nose with some mineral notes. Dry, medium bodied, quite nicely structured (although it may seem lean to California wine fans), slightly spicy, fairly ripe, tangy, slightly grippy, plum-red-cherry flavours with a very crisp, slightly cedary, lingering, somewhat chalky, bricky finish. This youthful blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc has a hefty 14.5% alcohol and 2 g/L residual sugar with lot number L0118 on the back label. Another steak red. |

TASTING NOTE: Like the depth of fruit and intensity to this Bordeaux Sup., which shows blackberry and blueberry character. Ripe tannins, too. Wait and see, but I like it. Score - 91-92 (James Suckling, jamessuckling.com, April 11, 2019) |
